Elisa Olga Kho
Elisa Olga Tingcungco Kho (born July 1, 1956) is a Filipino physician and politician from Masbate known for being the province’s first female governor. A graduate of the University of Santo Tomas, she shifted from medicine to public service, first winning as Governor of Masbate in 2007. After her term, she was elected Representative of Masbate’s 2nd District in 2013, serving multiple terms and focusing on health, rural development, and infrastructure legislation. In 2022, she became Vice Governor, then reclaimed her congressional seat in 2025. A member of Lakas–CMD and previously PDP–Laban, Kho’s career reflects both her commitment to public health and development, and her role within Masbate’s influential Kho political family, which has maintained strong control over provincial politics through successive elections and strategic power transitions across local and national posts.
